Review - Born Pretty 12 Color Iced Mylar Sheets

*Product Sent For Review*

Today I have a review of the 12 color ICED MYLAR SHEETS NAIL ART Glitter Powder Box from Born Pretty.  It includes 12 pots, each generously filled with individual shades of pre-cut mylar housed in a great container for storage.  All 12 shades are extremely shiny and reflective and can be used in a variety of ways. I chose to use them for a shattered glass manicure.  I could use a bit more practice with this technique, but the pre-cut pieces made it easier then having to cut your own.  Some of the larger/thicker pieces weren't flexible and didn't want to sit properly down on the nail, but the smaller pieces adhered well.  I'm looking forward to trying this technique again with some of the other shades.  Practice makes perfect!  If your looking for something like this, you can find it here:

China Glaze Cheers Collection - My Picks

This week I've been enjoying my picks from the China Glaze Cheers collection that was released for Holiday 2015.  The collection consists of 12 polishes in a variety of glitters, glitter toppers, shimmers and creams.  I chose 4 of them and here they are:

Better Not Pout  is my absolute favorite polish from this collection.  I'm in love with this shade!  It's a beautiful berry shimmer that glows on the nail.  You can see the "lit from within" quality from the picture below, but in person it is even better.  This would be a gorgeous pedicure color to kick off the spring.

Don't Get Elfed Up is a deep blue green shimmer bordering on teal in certain lighting.  I really like this shade and find the name of it rather amusing.

Bring On The Bubbly is a gold glitter topper full of multi-sized holographic hex glitter. (It's worn over Midnight Kiss from the 2010 Holiday Collection by China Glaze.)

Coal Hands Warm Heart almost didn't make it into this post because the formula was awful and I would not recommend it.  For me the application was thick in some areas and runny in others making it hard to control.

Santa Red My List.... is Pink!

While going through my "haven't worn yet" stash I found this pretty pink foil polish, Santa Red My List.  It's from the 2013 Happy HoliGlaze Collection by China Glaze.  The name puzzles me.  There is absolutely nothing red about this color.  It's a beautiful fuchsia pink. But, the name aside it's an awesome one coater.  I can't believe that I let this sit around unused for so long.  The silver foil that I used is Cheers To You. It's from the 2010 Tis The Season To Be Naughty And Nice Collection by China Glaze.  It's my favorite silver polish EVER.  I've used it so much that the bottle is almost empty! As with all holiday collections, it was a limited edition.  So, I'm going to have to go hunting around on ebay or Amazon for another one.  The glitter polish is Call The Doctor by Darling Diva.

Boundary Of Memory

Boundary Of Memory is another shade from the Giver Collection.  It's a black, silver and copper full coverage glitter polish.  It was opaque in two coats!

The Outer Edge

The Outer Edge is another polish that I chose from the Giver Collection by China Glaze.  It's a white and silver glitter topper in a clear base.  I'm wearing it over Friends Forever, Right (which was featured in the previous post) on the tips.

China Glaze Twinkle Collection

There were way too many wonderful holiday nail polish collections this year.  I'll admit that I went a little polish purchasing crazy!  There just wasn't enough time, fingers or days in the week to possibly wear and enjoy them all.  Thankfully most of the shades in the collections didn't scream "HOLIDAY" and are very wearable throughout the rest of the winter season.  Over the last week I have been enjoying the Twinkle collection by China Glaze, all 12 of them!  And..... here they are!

Meet Me Under The Stars

Dancing & Prancing over No Peeking!

De-Light over Tip Your Hat

Orly Sparkle Collection

Christmas time may be over, but I've got several 2014 holiday polishes that I haven't even worn yet!  I recently got to enjoy the Sparkle collection by Orly and really loved it... with the exception of one shade (which I will comment on later in this post).

First up is Bling, a gold holographic polish that is unlike anything that I've seen and unlike anything that I have in my collection.

Mirrorball is my favorite polish of this collection.  It's a silver holographic micro glitter.  I wore this beauty on New Years Eve and love it!

Steal The Spotlight is my second favorite in this collection.  I love the sprinkle of pink glitter with the teal.

Glitter Bomb is a multicolored glitter in a clear base.  This one would work well as a fun glitter topper.  I used several coats here to make it opaque.  (Thank God for OPI's glitter off base coat!)

Tinsel is so fun and festive and just screams Christmas.  I loved it!  This is two coats over white polish.  You can guarantee that this will be used for many holiday seasons to come.

Explosion of fun was my least favorite, which is odd considering that it's pink (which is my favorite color of all time).  This was clearly meant to be used as a topper, which I've seen in other blogger swatches.  I wanted to see if I could make it opaque.  That was a major fail.  I can't tell you how many coats this is.  I lost count after seven.  If I reach for this polish again, you can guarantee that it will be used as a topper only.
