Since my previous post featured Ariel, this seemed rather fitting for today.

Ariel

Ariel is my all-time favorite Disney Character.  I just love her.  I think it’s because she’s not your typical Disney Princess.  Yes, she’s half fish, which isn’t typical, but that’s not what I’m referring to.  Ariel didn’t just sit around waiting for some Prince to come and save her, she took the initiative.  In fact, she actually saves the Prince in the beginning of the story! Take that Snow White!  Ariel wanted a new life and sacrificed everything to get it.  She left her family and her home, went out on her own and took a huge risk for a chance to be with the one she loved.  I could go on and on about how much I love and relate to this little cartoon character, but I’ll just leave it at that.

This manicure would have looked great if the stickers actually stuck!  You can see how they are lifting.

Crayon Lipstick

Yesterday I had fun making lipstick in my kitchen out of crayons.  I've seen many recipes floating around the web for crayon lipstick so, after a long time of being curious I finally tried it.  I used the recipe that I found here:

http://www.beautylish.com/a/vxazv/diy-crayon-lipstick-recipe

This is my countertop just prior to beginning.

A close up of the ingredients:  Unrefined shea butter, jojoba oil (I ordered both of them from http://www.sudsandscents.com/), crayons, containers (that I purchased on Etsy.com) and some LaSlpash glitter that I added to a couple of the colors.

Here they are just out of the fridge after settling into the pots.

The finished product.

They are very sheer and wear more like tinted lip balm than lipstick, which was a bit disappointing.  But, it was something fun to do on a rainy Sunday afternoon.  Perhaps I'll look for other recipes and give them a try.
