Orly Melrose Collection

Orly's Spring 2016 Melrose Collection consists of 6 polishes inspired by Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles.

Beautifully Bizarre is a pale pink with blue and green shimmer.  This is absolutely stunning in person and my favorite of the collection.

Feel The Funk is a sheer lilac shimmer polish with holographic glitter.  I used 3 coats to get it opaque.  I'm interested to see what it looks like when used as a topper.

Hip and Outlandish is a bright teal crème polish.  These types of shades are notoriously hard to photograph.  It's a bit darker in person.

Trendy is a pinky coral polish with crystal shimmer.  It's known to be the problem child of this collection and I would have to agree.  The formula was thick and uneven.  Once it dried, the shimmer seemed to sink down into the polish making it appear dull and lumpy.  It looked a lot better after adding some top coat.

Vintage is a bright mint green crème polish. This was another one that was hard to photograph.  It's lighter and brighter in person.  I's my second favorite from this collection. I love it!

Window Shopping is a bright magenta crème polish.  This one is practically neon in person.  It's perfect for summer and would be a great pedicure color.

Movie Mani - My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2

Today I am going to see My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 and I'm so excited!  I loved the first movie and I can't wait to see the second.  I did a manicure for the occasion.  It's a simple french tip with a Greek key pattern over top.  Opa!

Mary Kay Into The Garden Nail Appliques

These limited edition nail appliques contain 16 decals in a variety of sizes and a mix of floral and lace designs.  I think these are beautiful and would be perfect for an Easter Mani.  I wore them over Mary Kay's nail lacquer in Pink Magnolia.

Mary Kay Into The Garden Collection

Mary Kay's limited edition Into The Garden Nail Lacquers are available in 3 colors released for Spring 2016.

Coral Blossom is a pretty coral pink crème polish that is perfect for spring and summer.

Pink Magnolia is a pale ivory/nude crème polish with a slight hint of pink.  I really like this one.  In other recent collections, we've seen shades of white with a touch of pink.  I like that Mary Kay chose to use an ivory base.

Sweet Lilac is a pale dusty grey crème polish with a hint of lilac.  I've seen this color a-lot on television lately.  Mary Kay is right on trend with this one.

China Glaze House Of Colour Collection - My Picks

The House Of Colour Collection by China Glaze is a collection of 12 polishes released for Spring 2016.  It's a collection of pastel cremes, a couple of glitter toppers, shimmers and a chrome.  Here are my picks:

About Layin' Out is one of my favorites.  I love this type of shade for spring and summer.  Plus, it's a crème/jelly formula which I love!

Don't be Shallow is a light blue crème/jelly polish.  The formula was really thin and required 3 coats for it to be opaque.

Girls Just Wanna Have Sun is a pale yellow crème.  Shades like this are typically streaky and require 3 coats to even out, but this one was perfect in two.

Let's Chalk About It is a white crème with the slightest hint of pink.  It has the same great formula as Girls Just Wanna Have Sun and only required 2 coats.

Sorry I'm Latte is a beige crème.  It's extremely office/work friendly and the name is really cute!

In The Near Fuchsia is my absolute favorite of the collection. It's a bright fuchsia crème/jelly formula.  Super shiny and "squishy" looking.

Moonlight The Night is a glitter topper with transparent blue, purple and iridescent hex glitter in a clear base.

Glitter Me This is a glitter topper with white, pale pink and mirrored gold hex glitter in a clear base.

Shut The Front Door is a pinkish violet with gold shimmer.  It's a pretty shade, but I'll admit that I purchased it because of its name.  Hilarious!

OPI Hello Kitty Collection - My Picks

I've been a huge fan of Hello Kitty since I was a child so, when I found out that OPI was releasing a Hello Kitty collection I couldn't wait!  I wanted to purchase every bottle because of how cute the brush covers are, but I restrained myself and only purchased the shades that I didn't have dupes for.  Here they are:

Look At My Bow is a light bubble gum pink cream.  It has the slightest hint of a blue-ish undertone to it which makes it a bit more unique.

Pretty Cute In Pink is not pink at all!  It's purple.  Perhaps some would say that it is orchid but, it is certainly not pink. Despite the deceiving name, I really love this one.  It's a jelly formula, which is my favorite.  It's super shiny and looks "squishy" like gel polish.

Spoken From The Heart is a pinky coral crelly (a cross between a cream and jelly formula).  This is one of my favorites in the collection.  I really love shades like this for spring and summer.

5 Apples Tall is a bright red cream polish.  Hello Kitty is said to be 5 apples tall, hence the name.

My Pal Joey is a vibrant blue cream. This was a surprise favorite for me and would be a great color for a fun summer pedicure!  This polish is named after Hello Kitty's little mouse friend, Joey.

Charmmy & Sugar is a silvery lavender based glitter polish filled with pink shimmer and multicolored glitter.  This took several coats to make it opaque, but it dries quickly.  I may use it as a topper next time.  Did you know that Hello Kitty has a pet cat?  Well she does and it's name is Charmmy.  She also has a pet hamster named... you guessed it... Sugar.

Starry-Eyed For Dear Daniel is a fuchsia pink, blue and purple glitter.  I almost passed on this one, but I'm glad that I decided not too.  It's stunning in person.  I don't have anything else like it.  And as a Hello Kitty lover, how could I pass on a polish that is named after her boyfriend?

Review - Born Pretty 12 Color Iced Mylar Sheets

*Product Sent For Review*

Today I have a review of the 12 color ICED MYLAR SHEETS NAIL ART Glitter Powder Box from Born Pretty.  It includes 12 pots, each generously filled with individual shades of pre-cut mylar housed in a great container for storage.  All 12 shades are extremely shiny and reflective and can be used in a variety of ways. I chose to use them for a shattered glass manicure.  I could use a bit more practice with this technique, but the pre-cut pieces made it easier then having to cut your own.  Some of the larger/thicker pieces weren't flexible and didn't want to sit properly down on the nail, but the smaller pieces adhered well.  I'm looking forward to trying this technique again with some of the other shades.  Practice makes perfect!  If your looking for something like this, you can find it here:

Patchwork Mani

I've been wanting to try a Patchwork style manicure for a while now.  It took longer than I had expected, but I'm very happy with the result.  I used shades from the Shift Into Neutral Collection that Color Club released last spring (2015).  I love the way these colors look together!

White - Blank Canvas
Mint Green - Sweet Mint
Putty - New-Tral

Why did I wait sooo long to wear these?!?

While going through my "haven't worn yet" stash, I came across these three beauties.  They are my picks from last year's (2015) spring collection, Road Trip by China Glaze.  All three polishes are pastel shades with fine shimmer throughout.  I'm in LOVE!  I can't believe that I waited so long to wear these.

Dashboard Dreamer is a powder blue with very fine copper shimmer.  I love this one.  It's like wearing a beautiful blue sky on your nails.

Pack Lightly is a light peach with fine copper shimmer.

Wanderlust is a very pale lavender with fine copper shimmer.

Review - Lady Queen 2Pcs Drill Point Pen Adsorption Stick / Drill Point Nail Art Pen

*Product sent for review.*

Today I have a review of the 2Pcs Drill Point Pen Adsorption Stick / Drill Point Nail Art Pen from LadyQueen.  They come in a set of two and are great for easily picking up rhinestones, beads, pearls and gemstones to add to your nail art.  The rubbery tip picks up and holds stones securely until you are ready to place them on the nail.  The one thing that I really love about this product is that it doesn't leave any residue behind, unlike some of the wax pencils that I have used in the past AND it never needs to be sharpened!  This is a must have for me and anyone who enjoys adding embellishments to their manicures.  You can find them here:
